Production Intern (Part Time)
Reporting To the Senior Director of Production

About NewWorld:

NewWorld is an award‑winning next‑generation media company operating at the intersection of culture, storytelling, and rapid response. Our stories, shows and campaigns meet audiences at the speed of culture, shining a light on the world as it is, while inspiring courage and confidence to change it. Our team combines cultural intelligence, creative storytelling and strategic intervention to build trust, shape narratives, and move people from outrage to optimism– and from optimism to action.

About the role:

As a Production Intern, you will keep an active slate of serialized social shows organized, documented, and moving. Reporting to the Senior Director of Showrunning and collaborating closely with external producers and internal operations teams, your primary responsibilities will be onboarding and supporting freelance talent and production partners -- tracking contracts, invoices, and receipts -- and building and maintaining the production file system. You will also conduct social-first research to source creators, partners, and creative references, with some opportunity to contribute to the creative process as the role develops.

This is an opportunity with real scope. You will join a growing studio at a formative moment, with direct visibility into how a new department is built and real opportunity to grow within it.

You are a natural organizer with a systems mindset and a low-ego work style. You communicate clearly, stay on top of multiple moving pieces without dropping any, and take pride in making complexity manageable. You are curious about both the operational and creative sides of how shows get made.

Responsibilities:

  • Talent and Partner Onboarding: Manage the administrative onboarding of freelance talent and production partners, including contracts, invoices, and receipts, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and filed on time.
  • Production File System: Build and maintain an organized, accessible system for all production-related files across an active multi-platform slate -- from pilots to returning seasons.
  • Administrative Communications: Coordinate operational correspondence on behalf of the Senior Director of Showrunning, including scheduling, follow-ups, and ongoing communication with external partners.
  • Social-First Research: Conduct research to source creators, partners, and creative references in support of show development, with some opportunity to contribute directly to the creative process over time.
  • Systems and Tools Management: Maintain and update production tracking supporting the team's ability to operate efficiently as the slate grows.

Qualifications & Qualities:

Successful candidates will have all of the following:

  • Exceptional communicator -- prompt, clear, and warm across written and verbal formats, with the ability to make complex systems and multiple moving pieces easy to understand
  • Natural organizer with a systems mindset -- you find the right place for everything and keep it there
  • Strong spreadsheet skills and comfort managing layered workflows across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience managing documents, files, or administrative workflows in a professional or academic setting
  • Working understanding of basic production workflows -- what a production cycle looks like, what contracts and releases are, how invoices move through a system
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar) and quick to learn tools like DropBox.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for NewWorld's mission and the work we're building
  • Well-informed about social content -- you follow it, you understand it, and you think critically about what works
  • Obsessed with building a culture of collaboration, respect, and excellence
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment.

Preferred additional qualifications:

Few candidates will bring all of these strengths, and none are strictly required; experience in the following areas would be an additional asset.

  • Prior internship or assistant experience at a production company, studio, or media organization
  • Familiarity with contracts and budget management in a production context
  • Experience supporting multi-title or multi-platform content slates
  • Exposure to social-first or digital-native content formats
  • Interest or experience in creative development, research, or storytelling

The salary for this role is $2,400 monthly ($30 an hour), with the expectation of 20-hours of working hours per week. This is a remote position, expected to last six months.
Interested applicants should submit a Resume and Cover Letter detailing their relevant experience.
