Creative Command Center Lead (Contract)

About NewWorld:

NewWorld is an award‑winning next‑generation media company operating at the intersection of culture, storytelling, and rapid response. Our stories, shows and campaigns meet audiences at the speed of culture, shining a light on the world as it is, while inspiring courage and confidence to change it. Our team combines cultural intelligence, creative storytelling and strategic intervention to build trust, shape narratives, and move people from outrage to optimism– and from optimism to action.

About the role:

As Creative Command Center Lead, you will lead a new, nimble, rapid‑response creator driven “war room” that translates real‑time social listening, cultural intelligence, and research into clear narrative priorities and creator‑ready briefs that translate into content seen by millions. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy, and collaborating closely with both our Research and Creative teams, your primary responsibilities will be analyzing ongoing social listening, drafting sharp creator-facing briefs, and working with a wide range of “non‑political” or lifestyle creators to support them in channeling their creativity in discussing these critical issues in the context of breaking news and ongoing debates.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, communications, creator collaboration, influencer management, research, and execution—turning intelligence into sharp briefs, supporting creators in real time, and continuously improving performance and impact. This is an ideal role for someone who understands creator ecosystems, can translate complex issues into compelling narrative guidance, and thrives in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments. This is not traditional politics—it’s innovative interference in the narrative battlefield, powered by creativity, legitimacy, and speed. Success for this role involves helping to generate sharp, original messaging that is seen and engaged with by millions across the United States.

This role may be up to 40 hours per week, depending on client needs, and is initially scoped for a six month period. This role will primarily work in Eastern Standard Time, and will report to the Senior Director of Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Translating Intelligence + Insight into Briefs. Work closely with NewWorld’s research, social listening, and cultural intelligence teams to understand emerging narratives, sentiment shifts, and opportunities for intervention. Synthesize data, analysis, and reporting into clear, creator‑facing briefs (multiple per week) that define: What’s happening, What’s being said (trending narratives), What we should say next, Creative hooks, tone guidance, and suggested formats. Ensure briefs are accessible, inspiring, and actionable for creators who are not primarily political.
  • Agency & Partner Coordination. Liaise with third‑party influencer activation agencies to align on creator recruitment, onboarding, timelines, and deliverables. Review creator scripts, outlines, or draft content as requested, offering guidance on framing, tone, and platform‑native execution (without overly scripting creators’ voices or style). Foster trust, confidence, and clarity so creators feel supported engaging on sensitive or high‑stakes issues.
  • Performance Tracking & Iteration. Work with internal teams to monitor reach, engagement, sentiment, and qualitative creator/audience feedback. Help compile weekly or bi‑weekly performance readouts and short feedback briefs for creators. Identify what’s working (and what isn’t) across platforms, formats, and narratives—and propose experiments and innovations to improve impact.
  • Program Evolution & Scale. Contribute to refining the CCC model so it can be replicated across new issue areas and response teams as they come on board. Document best practices, templates, and learnings to support future Creator Command Centers, and to support reporting to funders and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Qualities:

  • 3-5 years proven experience in digital media, creator partnerships, influencer strategy, cultural strategy, or rapid‑response communications.
  • Deep fluency in Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube ecosystems (formats, norms, algorithms, creator incentives). Experience working directly with creators or influencers, including providing feedback and managing relationships.
  • Proven ability to translate research or complex issues into compelling narrative and creative direction.
  • Strong writing and synthesis skills—especially short‑form briefs and creator‑facing guidance.
  • Highly organized, responsive, and comfortable juggling multiple fast‑moving priorities.
  • Obsessed with building a culture of collaboration, respect, and excellence
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment

Preferred additional qualifications:

Few candidates will bring all of these strengths, and none are strictly required; experience in the following areas would be an additional asset.

  • Experience in political, issue‑based, or movement communications (especially outside traditional campaign contexts). Familiarity or issue expertise on democracy, diversity and fairness, as well as climate readiness and resilience, are a plus.
  • You are calm under pressure and energized by breaking news.
  • You respect creators’ autonomy and voice, while still providing clear strategic direction.
  • You are collaborative, curious, and constantly iterating based on feedback and data.
  • You can hold nuance—balancing speed, accuracy, creativity, and care.
  • Past experience in a fast-paced startup or small company

The initial scope of the role is expected to last six months, up to 40 hours a week, with potential to extend based on client needs. The expected salary for this contract position is between $9,500 and $10,800 monthly and will be commensurate with experience.
